How can some people consider themselves PF fans and not like this album? How can people care only for vocals? Yes, for Pink Floyd vocals meant poetry and it sent a message but this album is about good byes and most important, the true message is that WORDS are not enough to express what we're feeling and to describe life. "It's louder than words, this thing that we do", sounds familiar? Art is beyond words, that's why we only have instrumentals in this album, it's part of the metaphor. Greatest music masterpieces of all time, and I'm referring mostly to classical music, don't have lyrics. Music without lyrics is more profound and personal, it paints a feeling but does not describe it; it leaves it open to the imagination. "Dark Side of the Moon" and "The Endless River" are my favorite albums. Dark Side is the young brooding philosopher who contemplates life with angst. The Endless river is like the same person but only much older now. This older person finally accepted life and maybe even understood it for what it is.

When this album came out I was floored. Had no idea it was coming. I cried tears of joy listening to the album.

To me this album is the just way of how Pink Floyd would want to go out, not with any more political vocals, no more melancholy, just a way to say goodbye, here’s one more query into space and time, it’s been a fun ride but you can always find me here saying my goodbyes on the endless river
