Larry Stewart left Restless Heart in late 1991 after the group released the compilation "The Best of Restless Heart." The group then became a quartet and released "Big Iron Horses" in 1992 shortly after which Dave Innis left the group. The group released "Matters of the Heart" in 1994 before splitting up. In 1998, a reunited Restless Heart (minus Innis) recorded three new songs for a Greatest Hits album and then toured with Vince Gill for about a year.
In 2003, all five members reunited and recorded the album "Still Restless" for Koch Nashville in 2004. The record label closed in early 2005 leaving the group without a label. They are still touring and released a live album through their website in August 2007.
Fast Movin Train
Restless Heart Lyrics

Mostly the gambling kind
I didn't want to be like the others
And get left behind
I heard about her bad reputation
And how she had a heart of stone
How she'd give a man
A moment of pleasure
I had a weakness for her kind of woman
I could never deny
I knew I would never see it coming
Until I was lost in her eyes
The more I tried to keep her at a distance
The more I became aware
She was breaking down my resistance
Till I no longer cared.
Tonight I saw the red red rose
In a yellow moon
Shining on a silhouette
Lying in the shadows of my bedroom
I knew it when we made love
And I couldn't quit calling her name
And I've been hit by another fast movin' train
I've been hit by another fast movin' train.
I wondered as I lay there and held her
Why can't this be real?
Why the fear wouldn't let me tell her
How could she make me feel
I doubt it if she would even be around
When the moment comes
I waited till she fell asleep
To whisper
Baby, look what you've done.
Tonight I saw the red red rose
In a yellow moon
Shining on a silhouette
Lying in the shadows of my bedroom
I knew it when we made love
And I couldn't quit calling her name
And I've been hit by another fast movin' train
Tonight I saw the red red rose
In a yellow moon
Shining on a silhouette
Lying in the shadows of my bedroom
I knew it when we made love
And I couldn't quit calling her name
And I've been hit by another fast movin' train
I've been hit by another fast movin' train.
The song "Fast Movin' Train" by Restless Heart tells the story of a man who falls for a woman despite her notorious reputation of using men to get what she wants. He is initially resistant to her charms and doesn't want to be one of her long line of lovers. However, as he spends time with her, his defenses start to crumble, and he becomes more and more infatuated. The chorus of the song alludes to the idea that their relationship is like a fast-moving train - once it starts, it's almost impossible to stop, and the man knows he's going to get hurt.
Throughout the song, there is a sense of danger and risk-taking - the woman is compared to a gambling addict, and the man takes a chance on her despite knowing that she could break his heart. He is captivated by her beauty and passion, but at the same time, he is afraid that he's heading towards a painful end. The final verse suggests that he's fallen in love with her and wishes that he could be with her more permanently, but he's not sure if she feels the same way. He whispers to her in his sleep, hoping that she will hear him and realize how she's affected him.
Overall, "Fast Movin' Train" is a romantic but bittersweet song about falling in love with someone who you know is dangerous for you. It's a classic country ballad with a memorable melody and relatable lyrics, and it remains a favorite among fans of Restless Heart and '80s country music.

I unfortunately can really relate to Fast Moving Train.
@Woody615
Released 33 years ago, and STILL better than almost all of the "country songs" being released today in 2023. Same with their "Dancy's Dream", "The Bluest Eyes in Texas", and "Why does it have to be wrong or right?".
@Steve-yo4ld
Absolutely 💯 ✌️
@joemathis4620
I totally agree. Don’t forget about I’ll Still Be Loving You! Always takes me back to my young carefree days
@forrestsaxon3707
What happened to those days… the younger generation have no clue what good solid music is… all computerized today, voices on stage are disappointments at most live concerts as recordings were tweaked so much
@forrestsaxon3707
Are tweaked so much today, not then
@rushingbrouillette
How bout better than all not almost all
@Myronkline
Only damn good bands like this can bring back such great memories. Thank you guys for phenomenal music
@freebird97hd
The songwriting, musicianship, vocals, timing, harmony...everything is perfect. In my top 10 best songs ever recorded.
@asbres11
I agree...my twin brother and I have a thing when this song comes on the radio or xm or wherever that we txt each other "fast movin' train". Wish country was as awesome today as it was when the newbies were sparkles in their parents' eyes.
