In a similar vain, the E.P was originally distributed in a very back to basics fashion that reflects the band's DIY attitude. With over 2000 physical copies sold at busking slots across the UK in Autumn 2009, 'Yer Blues John' was a strong platform from which Arabella have pushed towards national exposure.
The title of the E.P. is taken from a clip taken from the Rolling Stones' film - 'The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus'. In the clip Mick Jagger is seen talking to John Lennon and Introduces a performance of the song 'Yer Blues' by John Lennon's band - The Dirty Mac. The phrase 'Yer Blues John' came to be used by the band during the early stages of their time together, and they also included a cover of 'Yer Blues' in some of their early sets.
