The music of Raw Space has been described as "raw, honest" yet "deceptively complex" with the opening track, 'Little Moth', written in tribute to Elliott Smith and described by Spindle Magazine as "a tender homage with the intimate double vocals, distant mellotron and all round low-fi sound, very much in the spirit of Smith’s style and production."
Raw Space was conceived at Bell Labs' Anechoic chamber, cited in the Guinness World Records as the quietest room in the world, and was released as the world's first live 360˚ AR album stream. This enhanced streaming format, which combined live, 360˚ stereoscopic video and real-time AR visuals to create a modern, Fantasia-like live streamed album experience, was pioneered by Wolfe as a way of recapturing some of the old-school magic of music, and celebrating the album's artwork and story in the listening process. The New Scientist described it as "like walking around in a dream someone had made for me."
Raw Space has been described as "breathtaking" by The New York Times, "delicious" by the BBC, "raw, gritty and honest" by KCRW, "raw songs with arrangements that echo George Martin" by Jazziz, and an "amazing, flawless album" by Rolling Stone editor Nathan Brackett, who made it an Amazon Music's album of the month. It also featured on Bayerischer Rundfunk, Hoxton Radio, 91X FM.
