E.S.P.
Bee Gees Lyrics

Dark is the night, high is the fire,
Touches the sky, love with no shape or form.
I am in your mind's eye, just let your dreams run wild.

Somewhere, out across the nation,
Someone, waiting in the shadows,
Listen, I don't want to hear
"return to sender"
Calling. I can see the future,
Someday, signal with a single motion
Show me you believe in someone, somewhere.

Oh baby, you give me,
You give me the runaround,
Just another night with you,
You're on my mind.
And we got love,
And love'll take you higher and higher and higher,
Higher and higher.

E. S. P.
I communicate with you,
Tell me what it means to feel,
What am I supposed to do.
E. S. P.
Nothing any words can say,
Nothing that we know is real,
But it'll take your breath away,
Your breath away.

Danger, suddenly an early warning,
Suddenly the soul is burning,
But I still believe in someone, somewhere.

Baby, you give me,
You give me the runaround,
Just another night with you,
I'm in your mind.
And we got love,
And love'll take you higher and higher and higher,
Higher and higher.

E. S. P.
I communicate with you,
Tell me what it means to feel,
What am I supposed to do
E. S. P.
And love'll take you higher and higher and higher,
Higher and higher.
Be prepared to make your sacrifice, tonight,
Far beyond the point of no return, oh no.
And we got love,
And love'll take you higher and higher and higher,
Higher and higher, higher and higher,
Higher and higher, higher and higher.

Oh, oh, oh,
What am I supposed to do,
Supposed to do.
Oh, oh, oh,
But it'll take your breath away,
Your breath away.

E. S. P.
I communicate with you,
Tell me what it means to feel,
What am I supposed to do,
Supposed to do.
E. S. P.
Nothing any words can say,
Nothing that we know is real,
But it'll take your breath away,
Your breath, your breath away.
E.S.P.
Nothing any words can say,
Nothing that we know is real,
But it'll take your breath away.

@Gloria Mary Haywood Rob wasn’t screaming, he was singing in his normal range. Rob has sung in falsetto, regardless of Barry saying that he hasn’t, but he didn’t need to. Barry has to employ the use of his falsetto to reach a higher range. This is common knowledge. Anyone that has listened to the brothers know that Rob has always had the highest vocal range. Barry has stated many times.

The vocal that you’re referring to is used on “Longest Night” and others in the 80s. Rob could adib in this vocal and change the damn song. To me, “I Still Love You”, “It’s Only Make Believe”, and “Solid” have a similar vocal pattern that Rob has used.

Scanning my brain for Rob’s higher register in normal voice:

The coda to Close Another Door, “Let me go send me flowers and put me on the plane I may be poor but I’ve been told at least I’m still alive...” still gives me goosebumps.

Sun will shine
Summer of his years
Singer Sang his song
Odessa
Blk Diamond
When do I— his range on this track is amazing

Dearest borders on screaming
Sweet song of summer— Rob’s odd vocals
Living in Chicago
My life has been a song
Method — higher range to borderline madness

Rob has screamed on tracks. Think “Paper Mache”, “Lion”

Can we just appreciate Robin screaming at the ending? His vocals along with the music make this song so awesome to listen to.

Kevin Smith

I loved his voice all three brother were great

@Gloria Mary Haywood It Doesn’t Matter Much to Me is the first song that came to my mind, but I’m not sure if that’s the one you’re thinking of? Either way, great song. And Robin’s ad-libs at the end are absolutely killer.

@Afreaka Boucher Rob was singing in his normal voice.

@sunny_days Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I absolutely looove "For Whom The Bell Tolls!" When Robins voice comes in it takes that song to a whole other level. And the brothers harmony there is just Su-Perb! But no, Robin doesn't do that scream there. I'm thinking it's off of a certain song I've heard from their album that was never released called "A Kick In The Head"? Some really Awesome songs on that album!!😉

I seriously can't believe this wasn't the single biggest hit of the 80s. This should have been literally everywhere.

Kevin Smith

You are so right

Tarkus

I mean, ironically they are the ones who didn't give ESP a chance, by writing a bigger hit 'You win again' from the same album.

Mariano Pereyra

totally. the bee gees were never short of quality material with commercial potential. they were largely ignored and blamed for their success in their late 70s. they deserved to be big, even if it wasnt like the snf era, but defintely big. shame on radio and record industry.
