Guitar Boogie Shuffle
Bert Weedon Lyrics

Aerosmith
Box Of Fire
Rockin' Pneumonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu
I wanna jump but i'm afraid i'll fall
I wanna holler but the jones' too small
Young man really got the hold to it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu

Want some lovin', baby, that ain't all
I wanna kiss her but the girl's too tall
Young man really got a hold on it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu

I wanna scream, i want you all to know
I would be runnin' but my feets are too slow
Young man really got a hold on it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu

Baby callin' me now hurry home
I know she's leavin' 'cause i'm takin' too long
Young man really got a hold on it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia and joe perry too, oh

Want some lovin', baby' that ain't all
I wanna kiss her but the girl's too tall
Young man really got a hold on it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu

I wanna scream, i wanna scream
Young man really got a hold on it too
I got the rockin' pneumonia, what's the matter with you?

so many of the best guitarists learnt from Bert :-(

Very straight and controlled - I remember "a tune a day" this is played for white middle class audience when rock n roll was seen to be the devils music, something missing here for my taste. Save any rude remarks for yourself this is an honest opinion. He is a real guitar hero.

Got to admit it is a catchy tune

An interesting mix of opinions but even as a lifelong fan of Bert, I have to agree. Like Chet Atkins (another lifelong hero) his playing was 'straight' and did lack the rawness and inventiveness that was to follow but, as others point out, Bert inspired so many of those who came to the fore in the mid 60's and beyond that his place in the history of guitar is assured. He is cited again and again in biographies and autobiographies of so many. I've never figured out why nobody has written about HIS history and life. A great man and a great musician.

Bert 'ghosted' many hit singles in the 50s/60's as a session lead guitarist..

John Miller

The reason many of our top guitarists picked up a guitar in the first place. RIP Bert.
