Reckless Paradise
Billy Talent Lyrics
Stuck in a crisis
Without a conscience
Trapped in a place we don't belong
There's no more heroes
Left to believe in
They've pushed our backs against the wall
I know that something has to change
We got lost along the way
Your thoughts and plans can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
Crooks and deceivers
Misled by leaders
Our worldwide decency is gone
Chaotic flashes
Of huddled masses
Stare down the barrel of the gun
I know that something has to change
We got lost along the way
Your thoughts and plans can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
Bled in a reckless paradise
The house is burning, we're trapped inside
Our reckless paradise
The wheels are turning to tie eyes
In reckless paradise
Couldn't cut the tentson with a knife
In reckless paradise
It's up to us to read between the lines
Your thoughts and plans can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
Reckless paradise
The house is burning, we're trapped inside
Our reckless paradise
The wheels are turning to tie eyes
In reckless paradise
Couldn't cut the tentson with a knife
In reckless paradise
It's up to us to read between the lines
Your thoughts and plans can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again

[Intro: Ben Kowalewicz]
C'mon!
[Verse 1: Ben Kowalewicz]
Stuck in a crisis
Without a conscience
Trapped in a place we don't belong
There's no more heroes
Left to believe in
They've pushed our backs against the wall
[Bridge: Ben Kowalewicz]
I know that something has to change
We got lost along the way
Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
[Verse 2: Ben Kowalewicz]
Crooks and deceivers
Misled believers
A world where decency is gone
Chaotic flashes
Of huddled masses
Stare down the barrel of the gun
[Bridge: Ben Kowalewicz]
I know that something has to change
We got lost along the way
Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
[Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz with Ian D'Sa]
Live in a reckless paradise
The house is burning, trapped inside
A reckless paradise
The wheels are turning truth to lies
In reckless paradise
Could cut the tension with a knife
In reckless paradise
It's up to us to read between the lines
[Post-Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz]
Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
[Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz with Ian D'Sa]
Reckless paradise
The house is burning, trapped inside
A reckless paradise
The wheels are turning truth to lies
In reckless paradise
Could cut the tension with a knife
In reckless paradise
It's up to us to read between the lines
[Post-Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz]
Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain
'Cause we're falling down again
[Outro: Ben Kowalewicz]

Not all bands lose their edge over time. This is a killer track.

But I don't really agree it's just Ben who makes the Billy Talent Sound. It's the whole band, their whole style and vibe is recognizable in all their music. They write, record and produce all their songs on their own. They are also been together as a band for quite a long time and know that it's the 4 of them together who form the band. I can't find it right now but there's an interview where Ben, the lead singer tells that if one of them decide's too quite the band the won't continu under the name 'Billy Talent' cause Billy Talent is who they are with this line up and if that would change, so would the sound and the band.
Now as I mention in my other comment; It is possible that on drums someone else is (temporary) filling in for Aaron. Reason for this is cause he has MS, and due to this during the previous album he could play the drums for the recording or on the tour. Here Aaron made clear that he wanted the guys to continue and to not hold the album as he didn't knew when he could get back behind the drums again. So here they got a good friend of the whole band: Jordan from Alexis on Fire to temporary fill in on the drums.
