It was produced by John Congleton and was the band's return to a band-oriented sound after experimenting with electronic music for their previous release Ghosts of Download. The singles were “Fun”, “Long Time”, “Doom or Destiny”, which featured backup vocals from Joan Jett, and “Too Much”. The band also collaborated with Charli XCX, Johnny Marr of The Smiths, Devonté Hynes, Sia, Adam Johnston (An Unkindness), David Sitek of TV on the Radio and Nick Valensi of The Strokes in writing the 11 songs on the album. The album hit number 4 on UK album charts and number 63 on US album charts and was named as one of the "20 Best Pop Albums of 2017” by Rolling Stone Magazine.
