If I Were a Carpenter
Bobby Darin Lyrics

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?

If a tinker were my trade
Would you still find me
Carryin' the pots I made
Followin' behind me?

Save my love through loneliness
Save my love for sorrow
I'm given you my oneliness
Come give your tomorrow

If I were a miller
At a mill wheel grinding
Would you miss your color box
And your soft shoe shining?

If I worked my hands in wood
Would you still love me?
Answer me babe, yes I would
I'll put you above me

If I were a carpenter
And you were a lady
Would you marry me anyway?
Would you have my baby?
Would you marry anyway?
Would you have my baby?

Incredible Talent. I've never heard a better vocalist anywhere, Anytime, Anyplace. A singers singer.
3 minutes of magic right here. Look up The Best in the dictionary and there's a picture of Bobby Darin.

This man this human being was truly Magic. A rare and special gift to the people of the world that was brought forth for a while and then it was gone. However his genius and his music and his incredible personality still live on as evidenced in this incredible performance. Magic never goes out of style.
