With a passion for music but little formal musical training. Mexican born Enuar and Chilean born Khoriantor, both residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, were determined to realize themselves as artists and carve out a career in music. After briefly joining forces with another musician, they eventually formed Bonnevilla in 2007.
Their first album Sin Piedad was released in 2010. Using their own beats, mixes and lyrics, Khoriantor and Enuar used the 25 track album to reflect not only their experiences as immigrants and friends, but also their growth from teenagers to adult MC’s.
In 2010 the duo competed against popular Bands of different Latin Genres like Salsa, Merengue, and Reggaeton in the Last Night Party Utah, an event laid on by a popular Utah latin website. They won the award for Best Talent and 2011 they also won a local competition, competing more than 10 bands other urban bands.
Bonnevilla then went on to make Mixtape Vol 1. A transitional album before their next big project, this 12 track mix was intended to show the duo’s more “lyrical hardcore side”. With a more confident style and background experience – reflected in an improved sound quality and flow of lyrics – the duo were now beginning to establish and be comfortable-confident with their identity as artists.
After a long break of 4 years Khoriantor started working briefly on a solo project, the duo came together once more to work on a third album. Their intention was to showing their versatility as musicians. With the help of Argentinian producer and multi instrumentalist Gas-Lab and the their collaboration with Mexican hip hop artists Akil Ammar and Bocafloja the produced Ad Finem - an album that drew its inspiration from subjects, such as love, nature, poverty and corruption, as well as their roots as immigrants, once more. Ad Finem has now been made available in Itunes, Spotify and Google Play.
Resisting pressure to become more commercial, Bonnevilla are dedicated to making what they call “music with conscience and meaning”. The duo believes that people need hope, leadership, and their voices heard” and that's the message they intend to get across through their music.
