If you had been following this mans career up until this point, you would know that he was very keen on dropping an endless array of singles on his Soundcloud profile without ever putting any of them on a coherent project. Because of that, fan-made compilations of his work were widespread at the time, and to put a halt to that practice, and to give the fans the songs in an acceptable audio quality, The Leek was willed into existence. This series of compilations would compile all the songs that hadn't found a home on other projects, and to celebrate that, two of them were dropped on the same day. The Leek Vol.1 does exactly what I was just talking about, however what it proves is that Keef dropped a lot of underappreciated material so incredibly low-key. A lot of the songs on here are stone-cold Drill classics, from the insanely catchy Colors, over the anthemic 24, How It Go, Either Way up until Make It Count. It's a hodgepodge of multiple years of Keef material, but all of the songs on here have such a jovial, euphoric feel to them, it all fits together, no matter how well Keef was doing during some of these songs. It's also notable for having two of the all-time fan favorites from Keef, Save Me and War. Save Me is an absolutely nasty and grimy piece of Drill, driven by a big Katy Perry sample of all things (Legendary Lovers, to be precise), that's equal parts super aggressive and extremely blissful. War on the other hand is one of the most disrespectful and aggressive diss tracks by Keef, most famous for his aggressive cough at the start, but is just bursting at the seams with energy and hilarious lines.
The Leek Vol.1 is honestly just such a fun experience. On here you get a big fix of anthemic Keef tracks, all with infectious and grandiose instrumentals and him just doing what he does on top. Since almost all of the songs on here are near slam-dunks (haha), definitely give this a shot, especially if you wanna have a mosh-party in your bedroom. Keef truly has a soundtrack for anything.
