Everything's improvised, there's no fixed line-up, no imposed structures or hierarchy. And nothing for sale. All organismic recorded output is free for download, under an Creative Commons (open source) license.
COTD think that people don't really need any more plastic discs (or plastic bags).
The collective formed in 2001. Originally formed by Simon Egan, Keith Hunter and Matthew Watkins, the collective now consists of about twenty players, with a core group of about a dozen.
The collective attempts to operate in a non-hierarchical way, with an emphasis on inclusivity, openness, mutual respect and listening. Although primarily acoustic, some electric instruments have been gradually integrated over the years. The group does occasionally perform locally, but the majority of its activity consists of private sessions.
