The name of that track was “The Band Played The Boogie” by NW1 featuring SE London Rapper Born 2 B. The trio were offered a deal with EMI subsidiary, Blue Note Records. NW1 was no more and from the ashes evolved Us3. The song was quickly reworked by the newly created Us3 and hit the UK Top Ten as “Tukka Yoot’s Riddim”, whilst Rapper Born 2 B went on to sign a solo deal with US label Century Vista Records.
Now forward to 2007, the Resurrection.
DJ Dax (as heard on Coldcut’s “Solid Steel”) has teamed up with the original Rapper Born 2 B to create a firin’ new remix of the original Jazz-Rap classic into a funky chunk of Breakbeat
