Depeche Mode Lyrics
Let's have a black celebration
Black celebration
Tonight
To celebrate the fact
That we've seen the back
Of another black day
I look to you
How you carry on
When all hope is gone
Can't you see?
Your optimistic eyes
Seem like paradise
To someone like
Me
I want to take you in my arms
Forgetting all I couldn't do today
Black celebration
Black celebration
Tonight
To celebrate the fact
That we've seen the back
Of another black day
I look to you
And your strong belief
Me, I want relief
Tonight
Consolation
I want so much
Want to feel your touch
Tonight
Take me in your arms
Forgetting all you couldn't do today
Black celebration
Black celebration
Tonight
Black celebration
I'll drink to that
Black celebration
Tonight
Black celebration
I'll drink to that
Black celebration
Tonight

@shrimp I keep trying to find your reply, I got a notification and now I can't find your reply! If you see this please know I was just sharing my thoughts but did not mean to make you feel left out being as young as you are! I love that anyone at any age appreciates this music!

There's something really deeply, desperately sad about this song. It's like life has become so utterly miserable that the only joy left is when the day is finally over; when sleep shuts off the mind from its restless waking hours and the sufferer can take sweet relief in 'forgetting all they couldn't do today'. They are literally, as that other Dep Mod song goes, waiting for the night to come'. That is bleak. And I love them for it.
