Tears In Heaven
Eric Clapton Lyrics
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay here in heaven
Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please, begging please
Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more tears in heaven
Would you know my name
If I saw you in heaven?
Would you be the same
If I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong here in heaven

"Tears In Heaven"
Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
'Cause I know I don't belong
Here in heaven
Would you hold my hand if I saw you in heaven?
Would you help me stand if I saw you in heaven?
I'll find my way through night and day
'Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven
Time can bring you down, time can bend your knees
Time can break your heart, have you begging please
Begging please
Beyond the door, there's peace, I'm sure
And I know there'll be no more
Tears in heaven
Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?
Would you feel the same if I saw you in heaven?
I must be strong and carry on
Because I know I don't belong
Here in heaven

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope things are better now even slightly. I hope that you've gained a bit of closure. God bless and all the best! Please take care of yourself!
I leave you with this quote in the hope of comforting you:
"The dead have no desire but the happiness of the living."

The circumstances that made this song were horrible, but I am thankful for this masterpiece.

@Derek Chauvinist Rockwell the 88th If you truly don't care and find this humorous maybe you should consider getting help. I am saying this out of kindness. Those are not "normal emotions" that humans usually express about a senseless tragic death of someone's little child whether you know them or not.

@eugene collins My daughters at teacher actually said this same thing. He said some of his students best pieces came after some of their darkest moments. I can attest to this with a piece my daughter painted due to complete heartbreak. Nothing this tragic but grief and unbearable emotional pain. Many artist suffer from depression; art, music, dance etc, addiction. It's sad such beauty comes from tragedy but it's all part of an artists coping mechanism. Wish it wasn't this way. It just is. 😔

I lost my son in 2013. He was a 23 year old Marine with 2 tours in Afghanistan. He saw some horrific combat in Marjah and it haunted him for the rest of his life. There's not a day that goes by when I don't cry for my son. I'd give anything to have him back
