20 Feet Tall
Erykah Badu Lyrics

My love what did I do to make you fall so far from me?
And how, I can't recall cause of the fall selected memory
Then you, you built a wall
A twenty foot wall
So I couldn't see

If I get off my knees I might recall I'm twenty feet tall.
Ooh, eh
I'm twenty feet tall
Ooh, eh
I'm twenty feet tall

My love what did I do to make you fall so far from me
And how, I can't recall cause of the fall selected memory
Then you, you built a wall
A twenty foot wall
So I couldn't see

If I get off my knees I might recall I'm twenty feet tall.
Ooh, eh
I'm twenty feet tall
Ooh, eh
I'm twenty feet tall

Ah, hey
I'm twenty feet tall
Ah
I'm twenty feet tall

This whole CD Return of the Ankh is about returning to your higher self. The words and beats are hypnotic, especially if your on a psychedelic trip and let her music and words take you back to the place where We came from.

Minding my own

This song actually makes me cry for some reason. But I feel like it’s helping me release pressures of daily life. Definitely a beautiful song. And it reminds me of my strength and power.

Several of her songs make me cry & they aren’t sad….it’s the truth we’re feeling…tears of joy and enlightenment…❤️ conscious bliss it is!🥰

in this moment, this song for me is about conflict between lovers. the speaker is realizing their ability to harm their lover and causing them to become guarded and out of reach. "my love what did i do?" is still putting the onus on the person harmed, but once the speaker remembers (recalls) their own power and responsibility in the situation (not playing the victim, getting off their knees) they realize the wall is 20 feet tall to keep them specifically out and can reflect. selective memory is how the person who has harmed has evaded accountability. the children's celebration at the end suggests reconciliation and healing and that the speaker has since been able to take accountability as they stand tall.

This song does have a double meaning. But it's funny it goes even deeper for those whom are highly awakened. How even after wake up after wake up call, we still cannot seem to see we are the ones we've been waiting for. We've conjured up, created the gods in OUR image. We were the hive minds that fell from our advanced knowledge, systems & even DNA. We were the angels of stardust that fell from grace. We are walking collective information. From our heads to our toes, created in the image of infinity itself. Why shorten your sparkle with nuances of dogmatic endless and even unexplainable ideologies. Dig deeper.. You have more answers to your own questions than you know. Look at the image.. She's literally showing you your part in infinite intelligence. Nothing new age about it, your leaders just forbid the moment you realize your greatest potentials. Rise, 🌎. And conquer!
