The lyrics to Fat Freddy's Drop's song Ernie reflect a willingness to slow down and take a moment to appreciate a particular person. The repeated phrase "Moving like the willow tree" suggests a certain kind of grace and fluidity in this person's movements, perhaps indicating a peaceful and calming presence. The singer then declares their willingness to step out of the rush of life for this person, indicating that they prioritize this connection over the hectic pace of everyday life.
The line "come with your wanton fashion" suggests that this person may have a non-traditional or unapologetic style, but the singer welcomes and respects them regardless. The final lines indicate a general sense of openness and willingness to accept whatever this person brings to the table, emphasizing the value placed on their companionship.
