A talented singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, he started his first band at the age of 15 when he was living in Southern Alberta. For more than a dozen years they performed in Western Canada and became fairly well known regionally. In the late ‘90’s, Del relocated to Florida, and teamed up with Dave Laracuente to create Feedback (now Ferengata). Del has had the privilege of appearing onstage with "Mark Gray (Exile)" and "Kenny Olson (Twisted Brown Trucker Band)" as well as opening for "Southbound" and "Salvador".
David Laracuente has been around the music business since he was 14 years old, and serves as guitarist and vocalist in Ferengata. He has written music for both TV and radio, including "Access Hollywood". In the mid-1970’s, Dave and his band "Spice" opened for "The Isley Brothers" and "Patti Labelle". "Spice" recorded an album for boxing promoter "Don King" at American Star Studios (West Virginia) ... a single from that album "Everything is You" reached #16 on the Billboard Charts. Dave's next band, "Spring Fever", was named as one of New York City's most promising acts by WNBC radio in 1980. Dave has played as a session musician in some of America's top studios including "The Electric Ladyland Studios", "Hit Factory", and "The PowerStation", among others.
Jose Lorenzo is "Ferengata’s Drumcussionist". He was born in Cuba in 1973 and moved to NYC in 1980. There he grew up listening to all different types of music: Hip Hop, Latin (Cuban, Salsa, Merengue), Rock, and later Club music (House, Techno, etc.), Reggae and Jazz were part of his normal listening routine. He began playing drums in 1994 and percussion in 1996. His playing combines technique, feeling, and showmanship. In New York, Jose served as drummer for three original bands (Birthmark, Peter’s Blade, Anomie Mind) in NYC from 1994 to 2003, including studio work from 1995 to 2002. He also appeared live in top NYC & NJ venues such as CBGBs, Continental, Downtime, Coney Island High, Don Hill’s, Maxwell’s, Love Sexy, Pyramid, China Club and Club Deep, among others.
Warren "the Honeyhead" Smith began his musical career in Wilmington, Delaware at age 4. Starting with drums and then adding piano at age 10 and trombone at age 14 "the Honeyhead’s" professional career now spans some 43 years with such diverse gigs as Seigfried and Roy in Las Vegas and blues legends Bernie Lee and Little Milton. As a graduate of the famed University of Miami’s Studio Music and Jazz program Warren’s resume now includes composition, teaching and commercial writing as well as drums, percussion, keyboards and vocals.
Jose Caro (Joe) was born in Manhattan, NY. At the age of eleven, his father bought him his first drum set. His mother pushed him to take drum lessons, even though he didn't want to! Joe played drums with Dave in one of his early New York bands, and now years later, he joins Ferengata on percussion and rhythm guitar. Joe grew up during the influence of the British invasion and the Motown and Latin sounds of the 60's. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Temptations, Santana, and Willie Colon are some of Joe's favorite bands.
