Dreijer was born on 7 April 1975 in Gothenburg, Sweden. In 1994, they formed the indie rock band Honey Is Cool, where they served as the lead vocalist and guitarist. Together with their brother Olof Dreijer, they formed an electronic music duo The Knife in 1999, and have spanned a series of successful and critically acclaimed albums.
What would you do if one decade into your career you suddenly saw one of your songs turned into a worldwide hit, won six Grammis in your native Sweden and your latest release was declared album of the year by one of the world’s most influential music websites? If you’re Karin Dreijer, the answer is to take a couple of years off and return as a solo artist under a new name: Fever Ray.
In Dreijer's's own words: “I had so many songs to record that I just had to make an album. I thought I was going to have a longer break but I guess it will never happen. I can't stop working. My aim was to finish the album and, now that it's done, I'm a bit restless (good that The Knife has an opera to write then). During the last years, I discovered that I like to sing too, so I hope that my newly found live band Fever Ray will make it to the stages next year. We are rehearsing and building something beautiful and brilliant."

Triangle Walks
Fever Ray Lyrics
An apple and a berry plant
Comes with a house
On the grass, who is that
To come by my house
Stands outside my window
Sucking on the berries
And eats us out of house and home
Keeping us awake, keeping us awake
Can I come over, I need to rest
Lay down for a while
Disconnect the night was so long
The day even longer
Lay down for a while recollect
Five a.m. out again
Triangle walks
Magpies, I throw sticks at them
They laugh behind my back
Getting a feeling
Maybe I will dream again
Having that feeling
When there's no one awake
No no one awake
Can I come over, I need to rest
Lay down for a while
Disconnect the night was so long
The day even longer
Lay down for a while recollect

Five AM
Out again
Triangle walks

From Twitter (Ask-Fever Ray-Session):
Questioner: "What are you talking about in triangle walks? the years have passed and I still can not understand the song very well"
Fever Ray: "there was a walk i had with the stroller when my kids where babies. from the house, to the first street lamp, to the first tree in the park, and then back."

Thanks for that. It makes the song easier to understand. To me it's all about having a baby. Eating you out of house and home, keeping you up, needing rest, etc. Gorgeous song. It feels so lonely.

I find Karen's music addictive. It's almost a drug to me. It does something to me that I cant explain.

There haven't been many albums that have flat out hynotized me. This and Aenima by Tool have that distinct pleasure. Amazing music.
Veronica Lynn
Her music has got me through some of the worst shit..

This song reminds me of when my children were born. So tiring sometimes. Triangle walks makes me think of holding a baby and pacing the floor.

@Big Dave I think for some parents who appreciate melancholy a little, this album is very liberating. The tiredness, the fraying of nerves and time feeling like it's bending at those awful hours. Worry. All of the things you can't bring to a "Gymboree", haha. There's so much love in parenting but moments like this and "Concrete Walls", "If I Had a Heart", are real, too. Thanks for the shout!
