The album was preceded by the singles "Club Can't Handle Me (feat. David Guetta)", and "Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1)" (released in June and November 2010, respectively), the former of which topped the charts in several countries. "Who Dat Girl (feat. Akon)" and "Why You Up in Here (feat. Ludacris, Git Fresh and Gucci Mane)" followed in January and May 2011, respectively.
Having been originally envisioned as a two-piece project, a second half titled Only One Rida (Part 2) was set to be released in 2011 but was scrapped and reworked into what became his fourth studio album, Wild Ones (2012).
The album shows the rapper taking the first steps into his trademark blend of hip-hop and EDM, frequently called hip-house. A style he would go on to explore in several subsequent projects.
