Iron Maiden Lyrics

Won't you come into my room, I wanna show you all my wares
I just want to see your blood, I just want to stand and stare
See the blood begin to flow as it falls upon the floor
Iron Maiden can't be fought, Iron Maiden can't be sought
Oh well, wherever, wherever you are
Iron Maiden's gonna get you, no matter how far
See the blood flow watching it shed up above my head
Iron Maiden wants you for dead
Won't you come into my room, I wanna show you all my wares
I just want to see your blood, I just want to stand and stare
See the blood begin to flow as it falls upon the floor
Iron Maiden can't be fought, Iron Maiden can't be sought
Oh well, wherever, wherever you are
Iron Maiden's gonna get you, no matter how far
See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above my head
Iron Maiden wants you for dead
Won't you come into my room, I wanna show you all my wares
I just want to see your blood, I just want to stand and stare
See the blood begin to flow as it falls upon the floor
Iron Maiden can't be fought, Iron Maiden can't be sought
Oh well, wherever, wherever you are
Iron Maiden's gonna get you, no matter how far
See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above my head
Iron Maiden wants you for dead
Oh, oh
Yeah-yeah
The lyrics to Iron Maiden's song "Iron Maiden" appear to be from the perspective of a sadistic, bloodthirsty killer who wants to lure someone into their room to witness their collection of gruesome "wares." The phrase "Iron Maiden" is used as a metaphor for death, as the killer claims it "can't be fought" or "sought." The repeated refrain of "Iron Maiden wants you for dead" is a chilling assertion of the killer's intentions, while the line "See the blood flow, watching it shed, up above my head" suggests that the killer takes some kind of pleasure in the violence they inflict. The tone of the song is dark and menacing, with a driving, heavy-metal sound that underscores the murderous lyrics.
The song "Iron Maiden" was the title track of the band's debut album, released in 1980. It was written by bassist Steve Harris, and features the classic lineup of the band: Harris, vocalist Paul Di'Anno, guitarists Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton, and drummer Clive Burr. The song has become a staple of the band's live shows, and has been played more than 1,100 times in concert. Despite its dark subject matter, the song has also become something of a signature tune for the band, and is often used as an encore or fan favorite.
