Janet Jackson: Number Ones: Icon (A&M/UMe), brings together 11 of the artist's #1 hits - 10 of them gold or platinum - and the newly released “Nothing” from the 2010 motion picture, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?, which Janet stars in. One of the biggest-selling recording artists in the world, the ASCAP and Grammy winner's previous compilation albums and CDs have been giant hits, her 1995 double platinum Design of a Decade: 1986-1996 and 2009's Number Ones.
“Nothing”, which she composed, was recently cited by the trade paper Variety as one of two motion picture songs of 2010 to date considered as strong contenders in the running for Oscar nomination. Jackson was previously nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song with “Again” (from the film Poetic Justice) and also for the Golden Globe.
