Old Hat
Jon Pardi Lyrics
These days they call you crazy
If you hold the door for a lady
If you don't call her girl 'stead of baby
You're out of style, obsolete
If you seal a deal with a handshake
Sit down for a meal and you still pray
If a promise is somethin' you don't break
You're the last of a dyin' breed
When did old-fashioned become so out-of-fashion?
When did we go out with the old, in with the new?
And you can bet your ass, there's a lot of us ol' cats
Wearin' old boots and old hats that ain't ready to give old hat the boot
We ain't afraid to work in the hot sun
We can finish a fight but won't start one
We don't ever forget where we came from
We got a degree in the old-school
For all that I've learned I wish that I knew
When did old-fashioned become so out-of-fashion?
When did we go out with the old, in with the new?
And you can bet your ass, there's a lot of us ol' cats
Wearin' old boots and old hats that ain't ready to give old hat the boot
I say old-fashioned don't go out-of-fashion, no
You don't have to throw all of the old out for the new
And you can bet your ass, there's a lot of us ol' cats
Wearin' old boots and old hats that ain't ready to give old hat the boot
Yeah, there's a lot of us old hats
That ain't ready to give old hat the boot

JON PARDI (2019) – OLD HAT (Traducción)
These days, they call you crazy
Hoy en día, te llaman loco
If you hold the door for a lady
If you don't call her "girl" 'stead of "baby"
You're out of style, obsolete
Estás pasado de moda, obsoleto
If you seal a deal with a handshake
Sit down for a meal and you still pray
Te sientas a comer y aún oras
If a promise is somethin' you don't break
You're the last of a dyin' breed
When did old fashioned become so out of fashion?
When did we go out with the old, in with the new?
And you can bet your ass there's a lot of us ol' cats
Wearin' old boots and old hats
Llevando puestas viejas botas y viejos sombreros
That ain't ready to give old hat the boot
We ain't afraid to work in the hot sun
We can finish a fight, but won't start one
We don't ever forget where we came from
No olvidamos jamás de dónde venimos
We've got a degree in the old school
Nos hemos licenciado en la antigua escuela
For all that I've learned, I wish that I knew
When did old fashioned become so out of fashion?
When did we go out with the old, in with the new?
And you can bet your ass there's a lot of us ol' cats
Wearin' old boots and old hats
Llevando puestas viejas botas y viejos sombreros
That ain't ready to give old hat the boot
I say old fashioned don't go out of fashion, no
You don't have to throw all of the old out for the new
Wearin' old boots and old hats
Llevando puestas viejas botas y viejos sombreros
That ain't ready to give old hat the boot
Yeah, there's a lot of us old cats
That ain't ready to give old hat the boot
Ye Olde Spaniard
Man I love this song. Unfortunately it is true, I am the last of a dying breed. I work sunup to sundown on a farm wearing an old pair of boots and an old hat. When I go out, I do bow my head and pray before a meal. It sucks that most of my generation isn’t taught the old school way.

“You don’t have to throw all of the old out for the new”. That’s exactly what’s wrong with country radio today and has been for several years now.

I been listening to his music since like 2012 or before. “Up all night” was the one. I knew right there and then that he was gonna make it big. Since then I seen him live 2 times and I will again in Seattle. Pardi is by far my favorite country singer, keeping country music country.
