@Joaquin JokerIt could be the reversal or inversion of the myth of Pygmalion
The Weekday
@Joaquin Joker there are finer explanations but it is a character study of a co-dependent relationship. His only means of letting go of his obsession with work and structure is for his muse to make him sick enough to surrender to her care. It is sick, it is unhealthy, it is rather S & M in nature. Yet, this film made it beautiful. And Jonny's music translates that poignancy of the darker desires that may inhabit romantic love.

Martin Conway Loved That Film also. So Sad that Phantom Thread is DDL last film.
Martin T. Conway. C.
Me too. I kept thinking of DDL performance in Unbearable Lightness of Being. How far he has come.

I'm really hoping Johnny Greenwood wins an Oscar someday for one of his film scores cause his music for both Phantom Thread & Norwegian Wood is incredible.
