Logan arose from the swamps and beaches of Sarasota, Florida after a decade in the opera industry to write songs and make records in Nashville. The fourth generation in an old-world entertainment industry family including broadcasters, classical and jazz musicians, songwriters, musical theatre mavens, and television producers, Kim followed the genetic path and first pursued a degree in performance and songwriting at the Berklee College of Music. After two strange years in the icy twilight zones of the Boston and Brooklyn music scenes, Kim headed back south.
Now completing her degree at Belmont University’s Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business, Kim flexes her artistic muscles in every medium of art imaginable. In addition to the release of her debut self-titled record, Kim has penned a guest editorial for Lockeland Springsteen, consulted on and served as muse for a collection by fashion designer Rachel Hesse, and collaborated with filmmaker Trillbee the Hooligan on her music video for “Black Magic Boy.”
With education and passion spanning from Puccini to Hank Williams Sr. to Led Zeppelin, Kim’s music combines the theatrics of opera and vaudeville with the sex, drugs, and darkness of 20th century southern music. Kim met Gaelen Mitchell, her drummer, producer, and partner in crime, in a ditch in East Nashville one Halloween, and together they started a band. Now, teamed with bassist Ron Marsh and versatile bluesman Gyasi Heus on guitar, Kim takes her musical experience on the road.
The diverse and compelling songs on her debut album were written over the course of her first two years living in Nashville. They were recorded at Ocean Way on the famed Music Row, and at Electric Kite Studios in East Nashville – there is blood, sweat, and Miller High Life in every second of the recordings, and Kim returns to the studio this spring to start on her second record.
From the delta blues to the psychedelic ‘60s, from the golden years of classic country to the perfect rock & roll of mid-century Britain, Kim illustrates her roots through her original music. In the dark and mysterious gentleman’s club of rock & roll, Kim is the new queen.
Band Interests
Wine, whiskey, the occult, taxidermy, literature, high fashion, film, vinyl records, red meat, western wear, zombies, etc.
