Honeymoon
Lana Del Rey Lyrics

We both know that it's not fashionable to love me
But you don't go 'cause truly there's nobody for you but me
We could cruise to the blues
Wilshire Boulevard if we choose
Or whatever you want to do
We make the rules

Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon
Say you want me too
Say you want me too
Dark blue
Dark blue

We both know the history of violence that surrounds you
But I'm not scared, there's nothing to lose now that I've found you
And we could cruise to the news
Pico Boulevard in your used
Little bullet car if we choose
Mr. born to lose

Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon
Say you want me too
Say you want me too
Dark blue
Dark blue

There are violets in your eyes
There are guns that blaze around you
There are roses in between my thighs
And a fire that surrounds you
It's no wonder every man in town
Had neither fought nor found you
Everything you do is elusive
To even your honey dew

Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon
Our honeymoon

Dreaming away your life
Dreaming away your life
Dreaming away your life
Dreaming away your life
Dreaming away your life
Dreaming away your life

How do I find a man like this

My absolute favorite era is "Lizzy Grant". i think "Born to Die" is equally great.
To me every album after 2012 is just an echo of "Born to Die". She doesn't seem to change the formula much. Except that maybe the tones in her music grow a little darker over time.
i enjoy Lana's formula because it is distinctly her own, but i would like to hear something different.
Like in the earlier years, there was:
• May Jailer
• Lizzy Grant, and lastly
• Lana Del Rey
There could have been more, but i'm a little stoned right now.
They were all the same singer, but each of the three eras had different sounds/vibes.
i feel like Lana has just been giving us different iterations of "Born to Die" for the past 10 years.

Yucky Butter

I have a story to tell about a short film that I saw, it was truly beautiful and this song will never not remind me of it.

It starts out with the perfect wedding.

Everyone is celebrating and cheering. The bride and the groom come out. It’s the after party now. Not a single thing could ruin that moment between the new couple.

Except that the bride sees somebody at the tables a bit before their first dance.

She picks up her phone and dance and dials her husbands “guitar teachers” phone number and he heart breaks when the woman answers the phone. She believes she prettier than her and she is sitting at the table having a grand time at her wedding.

She knows that her husband had slept with her. The first dance begins and her husband takes her into the middle of the floor. She begins to sob but the audience chooses not to notice.

He asks his wife what’s wrong and she begins to question him about the woman at table 5.

He did, indeed, sleep with her. Everything begins to crumble around her as she’s passed to her father. As soon as the dance is over she races out of the venue and up the stairs, making her way to the roof.

She looks out, feeling herself ready to jump. She’s embarrassed and heart broken.

But a man is sitting, smoking about 15 feet away from her and he walks over to the beautiful bride and pulls her away. They get to talking.

She realizes that she shouldn’t have been in love with that man and she needs revenge.

She kisses the man and before you know if they’re together.

The husband makes his way to the roof, finally. He sees them together and is absolutely baffled.

She stands up. She tells him everything that she wished she could have said before. She tells him her plans of revenge. She’ll humiliate him. Ruin his life.

She waltzes down the stairs, glowing.

She makes her way back to the party and the music begins. She starts everything up again, the life of the party. Her husband comes back and the wedding guests grab them, hoisting them up high into the air.

The husband is practically in tears and the woman is watching from below but the wife could not be happier.

When they’re set down, she goes to the woman and takes her hands.

She tells her she’d like the dance.

She begins spinning her, quickly and aggressively. They’re momentum has picked up and neither can stop now.
The wife drops her hands and sends both of them flying through a window into the next room. The woman is badly damaged but the wife is still on top of the world.

Their cuts were treated and everyone feels sick. It is ruined.

The wife begins to cry. It had sunk in once more. The husband cry’s with her, all the way across the room.

He stands up and pops a bottle of champagne and chugs it messily. He throws it to the floor and watches as everyone flinches.

He goes to the table and grabs a sharp kitchen knife, to which everyone gasps. He walks to the table with the large wedding cake. He cuts himself a large slice and eats it silently.

When he finishes, he walks to his tired, broken wife. He holds his hand out for her.

All eyes are on them but they only see each other.

She takes his hand timidly and he helps her up. The music begins again and they slow dance together, burying their faces.

Everyone watches but they’re detached and it is only them.

They kiss tenderly, and everyone starts to trickle out. They understand that this is their moment.

I hate to end it like this but they have sex on the cake table. I didn’t know how to make that sound beautiful. Anyway, this song has, and will always, remind me of this song and vice versa.

@cyhi. Yep, her voice is so damn crisp, it's like I'm all alone in a huge movie theater, listening to her singing on the stage, with surround sound echoing throughout. Awesome!
