Comin' through satellites while cruisin'
You're part of the past, but now you're the future
Signals crossing can get confusing
It's enough just to make you feel crazy, crazy, crazy
Sometimes, it's enough just to make you feel crazy
You get ready, you get all dressed up
To go nowhere in particular
Back to work or the coffee shop
Doesn't matter 'cause it's enough
To be young and in love
To be young and in love
Look at you kids, you know you're the coolest
The world is yours and you can't refuse it
Seen so much, you could get the blues
But that don't mean that you should abuse it
Though it's enough just to make you go crazy, crazy, crazy
I know, it's enough just to make you go crazy, crazy, crazy
But you get ready, you get all dressed up
To go nowhere in particular
Back to work or the coffee shop
It don't matter because it's enough
To be young and in love
To be young and in love
Don't worry, baby
Don't worry, baby
And it's enough just to make me go crazy, crazy, crazy
It's enough just to make me go crazy, crazy, crazy
I get ready, I get all dressed up
To go nowhere in particular
It doesn't matter if I'm not enough
For the future or the things to come
'Cause I'm young and in love
I'm young and in love
Don't worry, baby
Don't worry, baby
In Lana Del Rey’s song “Love,” she addresses the feeling of madness that can come with the uncertainty of the future, especially for young people in love. She particularly references the mix of past and present as evidenced by vintage music coming through modern technology. The idea of signals crossing and becoming confusing can be a metaphor for the overwhelming nature of life in general, particularly when it comes to the future of a relationship. Despite this confusion, Del Rey asserts that being young and in love is enough, even when it seems like everyone is getting caught up in the rush of daily life.
The song’s chorus repeats the comforting mantra, “Don’t worry, baby,” serving as a reminder that despite the weight of the world and the uncertainties of the future, everything will be alright. The song argues that the simple pleasures of life - getting ready, dressing up, and going nowhere in particular - can be enough, especially when shared with someone you love. By acknowledging and embracing the beauty in life’s little moments, even in the face of confusion and chaos, one can find joy and comfort.
The song encapsulates the feeling of being young and in love, and how it can be a source of comfort and solace in times of confusion and uncertainty.
