Die hard fans adored your hands
They loved your throat and quote unquote "you"
Hey, remember Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson really happened
Delta Echo Alpha Delta, walking on the moon forever

You are dead and buried, you are dead (Oh no)
That's being revised!
Even as we speak we're synthesizing blood and organs
Synthesizing heart and soul
Even Katy Perry knows you're dead (Oh no)
Won't she be surprised!
When we get your heart to start tomorrow
When you see the chart tomorrow you'll be number one

Bro, you look amazing
Really put together
It's like you haven't aged a day, oh
It's like we know what we're doing or something

You've been gone for way too long, like half a year
An entire career for some
Good luck getting into Heaven if you live past 27
Listen to the radiation put you back in circulation

You are dead and buried, you are dead (Oh no)
Oh, but you never died!
Even as we speak we're synthesizing blood and organs
Synthesizing heart and soul
Ain't no cemetary you can't shed (Oh no)
Ain't nowhere you can hide!
Don't be frightened of us
Soon enough you're gonna love us, just remember

This is your last ride ever, forever
Fill up your lungs, feel better
Look, it's you, good as new
New hands, new throat, new living tissue
You earned this new purpose
Lifetime achievement award

Don't be nervous baby
We put a billion eyes back on you
From the grave to the stage
You're a natural, babe!

(Oh no, oh no)

Bringing back Michael Jackson from the dead is a reference to the celebrity-death culture where the media becomes briefly engrossed in the works of an artist immediately after their death. Consider the success of the MJ documentary "this is it," which grossed 250 million worldwide.

But this song takes the obsession a step further by literally bringing the musician back to life. Now that the musician is dead, the narrator must "synthesize heart and soul" and bring him back into "circulation," both metaphors for how the music industry brought artificial life to his career. It would come as no surprise that a zombie Michael Jackson, should he exist, would top the charts regardless of the surrounding circumstances. There is something unethical and horrifying about this kind of artistic necromancy, the song captures it well.

In bringing MJ back from the dead, the title of the song takes on a double meaning. MJ has achieved musical and cultural ubiquity, earning him a lifetime achievement award. He has also died, and therefore he has achieved an entire lifetime.

Erich Luepke or he just really likes MJ

Wow! I already liked this song, but now I know that it is truly beautiful and full of meaning.

i prefer the idea that, some dude and 3 ghosts were really big fans of Michael Jackson, dug up his grave, brought him back to life, and became his new manager.

@Tobias Higginbottom listen, there's nothing funny about my living-dead sculptures, they have MEANING, OK?

Tobias Higginbottom

Okay like this is sick and all but the term "artistic necromancy" just sounds so funny to me.

I wish there was other music that could evoke the same emotions that this album makes. Closest I could find was Hawaii Part ii
