Liz Phair Lyrics

I bet you fall in bed too easily
With the beautiful girls who are shyly brave
And you sell yourself as a man to save
But all the money in the world is not enough

I bet you've long since passed understanding
What it takes to be satisfied
You're like a vine that keeps climbing higher
But all the money in the world is not enough
And all the bridges blown away keep floating up

It's cold
And rough

And I kept standing six-feet-one
Instead of five-feet-two
And I loved my life
And I hated you

(Yeah)

It's cold out there
And rough

And I kept standing six-feet-one
Instead of five-feet-two
And I loved my life
And I hated you

This album is perfection. Every track is great. One of my all-time favorites.

Scott G Peterson

Couldn't say it better myself. Was blown away the 1st time I heard the whole album! The Chicago music music scene was already very hot at the time she came out and she just blew people away! The hard-working male bands in neighborhoods of Bucktown and Wicker Park or frankly jealous that she became a hit so fast without doing all the club circuit the male bands did. She was special for sure.

William Perry

I'd heard "of" her since the `90s but was never introduced to her music. I got the "Exile" album when someone was giving away in late `18. First time I played it, I listened 2 times more in full - it's THAT great.

I've loved Alanis Morrisette since `99 but was late getting turned onto Liz (late `18) How did I miss such greatness all these years!? I am SO bummed about the cancelled tour with Garbage. Patiently waiting with great anticipation, though I'm really wanting to see an unabbreviated Liz show.

My friends and I listened to this album every day in the summer of 96. Epic

@Erica Erkins yeah I feel ya my first time with Liz too...lately I've really been trying to get into these "best albums ever made" I keep hearing about and this week I saw Guyville in a secondhand store and took the chance really enjoying that and those tapes.

Erica Erkins

I have been. First time ever hearing them. Love it!

Dont forget to check out her "girly sound" tapes too
