Petricor,
Petrichor: "a pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather."

Carlos Flores

@FleetwoodSoup The world needs more of that impulse.

FleetwoodSoup

Also a word used in a quote of Doctor Who (s6 e4).

WANT MORE? I GOT MORE I'LL BRING IT ON!

Comes from "petra" which means land and "ichor" which can be described as the liquid coming from sky by god's will in Greek.
The smell is caused by actinomycetes bacteria. They interact with the rain water and cause plants to extract their oils on land.

This music feels like one of those lonely dark nights, where all the world goes still and it feels like you're the only person in the world, hurrying home through the rain.

@Mari Kukkonen A bit late but yes! I assume "Petricor" is Italian for petrichor
