What's Your Name
Lynyrd Skynyrd Lyrics

Well, its eight o'clock in Boise, Idaho
I'll find my limo driver
Mister, take us to the show
I done made some plans for later on tonight
I'll find a little queen
And I know I can treat her right

What's your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
Won't you do the same?

Back at the hotel
Lord we got such a mess
It seems that one of the crew
Had a go with one of the guests, oh yes
Well, the police said we can't drink in the bar, what a shame
Won't you come upstairs girl
And have a drink of champagne

What's your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
For there ain't no shame

What's your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
Won't you do the same? Awh yeah

What's your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
Won't you do the same?

Nine o'clock the next day
And I'm ready to go
I got six hundred miles to ride
To do one more show, oh no
Can I get you a taxi home
It sure was grand
When I come back here next year
I want to see you again

What was your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
Well there ain't no shame
What was your name, little girl?
What's your name?
Shootin' you straight, little girl?
Won't you do the same? Woo

¿Quieres venir arriba chica
Y tomar una copa de champán

¿Cuál es tu nombre, niña?
¿Cuál es tu nombre?
Le llevará directamente a disparar, niña?
Porque no hay vergüenza.

(Coro)

(Coro)

9:00 del día siguiente
Y yo estoy listo para ir
Tengo 600 millas para viajar
Para hacer más un show, oh no
¿Puedo conseguir que un taxi a casa
Seguro que era grande
Cuando vuelva el año que viene
Quiero verte otra vez

¿Cuál era su nombre, niña?
¿Cuál es tu nombre?
Le llevará directamente a disparar, niña?
Bueno, no es ninguna vergüenza
¿Cuál era su nombre, niña?
¿Cuál es tu nombre?
Le llevará directamente a disparar, niña?
¿No le gustaría hacer lo mismo?

One of the best rock songs ever, a real masterpiece!
With one of the best guitar solos ever also! at 1:46 wow!!!
Lynyrd Skynyrd was also amazing in their use of so many musicians in their music: 3 guitarists, bassist, drummer, pianist, horn section, and background singers --- a real band!

Rose Ducharme

We used to always call Skynyrd a Southern Rock Band

Francis Cronin

Yes this guitar solo it's one of the greatest in the history of rock and roll. Pure momentum and danger. Only a reckless Southerner high on cocaine could put something like this together

david panzer

They were essentially a soul band. They really weren’t “heavy”. There was a lot of textures and individual parts that fit together and make the sum bigger than the parts. They used very little distortion on the guitars. You could always hear the piano and on this song, the horns. Gotta love em😍

Nick Mackenzie Low

One of the most underrated guitar solos of all time. So beautiful, only a few solos can bring so much emotion out of me every time I hear them.

Miranda Smith

Oh man you would probally be disgusted at what they have for music nowadays ...thanks for making my childhood and life forever blessed

Jaydon Johnson

Ice of Autumn

My childhood didn't revolve around a dude asking a little girl what her name was.

Country music is the same way. You could feel the music back in the 60s. Go listen to Gary Stewart, for example, or THE Hank Williams, for example. I grew up on that. I'm not a fan of rock, but I understand what you're saying.

Jeff Tappan

Today's : music ' is a manufactured product. It's not an art form any more. It's processed. There's no feeling, no soul. It's Styrofoam, blah, nothing.
