There are three, known vinyl pressings of the Leathur Records version, along with one known cassette release and an incredibly rare promotional CD that Nikki Sixx had pressed just before signing to Elektra. The promotional CD version is so rare that most collectors don't know of it's existence and confuse it with numerous bootlegs and often argue that CD's weren't pressed until years later which however is untrue. It is the holy grail of Motley Crue recorded collectables far surpassing the Stick to Your Guns 7 inch vinyl and the white lettered first vinyl pressing fo rarity. The first vinyl pressing had white lettering on the cover and the record label was white with black lettering. The back cover photo of Vince Neil shows him with a massive hairdo which was airbrushed in as his hair color did not show well on the white album sleeve. The second pressing has red lettering on the cover and the record label is again white with black lettering. Vince's hair has also been fixed on the back cover photo. The second pressing also has a slightly different photo insert of the band. The third pressing has red lettering on the cover and the record label is black with white lettering. The first pressing seems to be the rarest, with only 900 copies pressed. The second pressing seems to be the most common one available on the secondary market. Although some sources indicate that the Leathur version also contained the song "Toast Of The Town", this is incorrect. This song was the B-side to a 7-inch vinyl single of "Stick To Your Guns" which was self-released by the band on the Leathur Records label prior to the recording of the Too Fast For Love album.
It was remixed and re-released on August 20, 1982, by Elektra Records, with whom they had recently signed their first recording contract. The Elektra version contained a different track order and omitted the song "Stick To Your Guns" as well as the first verse from the title track. However, the initial release of the album on Elektra in Canada (on both vinyl and cassette) was not the remixed version, but instead was the original Leathur Records version with the Elektra label on it, and included the song "Stick To Your Guns". This was released two months before the re-mixed version was released by Elektra worldwide. The reason for this was that Mötley was about to embark on a Canadian tour and Elektra wanted to ensure that a product was available while the band was touring the country. Once the remixed version was completed, later Canadian pressings were the same as the Elektra version everywhere else.

"Starry Eyes" – 4:28
"Too Fast for Love" – 3:22

Live Wire
Mötley Crüe Lyrics
Plug me in
I'm alive tonight
Out on the streets again
Turn me on
I'm hot to stop
Something you'll never forget
Take my fist
Break down walls
I'm on the top tonight
No no
You better turn me loose
You better set me free
'Cause I'm hot young running free
A little bit better than I use to be
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
I'm a live wire
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
I'm a live wire
I'll either break her face
Or take down her legs
Get my ways at will
Go for the throat
Never let loose
Goin' in for the kill
Take my fist
Break down walls
I'm on top tonight
No no
You better turn me loose
You better set me free
'Cause I'm hot young running free
A little bit better than I use to be
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
I'm a live wire
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
I'm a live wire
Come on baby
Gotta play with me
Well I'm your live wire
You better lock your doors
I'm on the prowl tonight
Well be mine tonight
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
I'm a live wire
'Cause I'm alive
Live wire
'Cause I'm alive
Come on and be my baby
Come on love me baby, come on tonight
('Cause I'm alive)
I'll give you everything you want inside ('cause I'm alive)
Plug me in, plug me in
I want you
Come on tonight

It's cool seeing all these kids digging the same music we did back in the mid 80's because of DIRT.
