Walkin' After Midnight
Madeleine Peyroux Lyrics

I go out walkin'
After midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
I'm always walkin'
After midnight
Searching for you

I walk for miles
Along the highway
Well that's just my way
Of saying I love you
I'm always walkin'
After midnight
Searching for you

I stop to see a weeping willow
Cryin' on his pillow
Maybe he's cryin' for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be

I go out walkin'
After midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hopin' you may be
Somewhere a-walkin'
After midnight
Searching for me

I stop to see a weeping willow
Cryin' on his pillow
Maybe he's cryin' for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be

I go out walkin'
After midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hopin' you may be
Somewhere a-walkin'
After midnight
Searching for me

I stop to see a weeping willow
Cryin' on his pillow
Maybe he's cryin' for me
And as the skies turn gloomy
Night winds whisper to me
I'm lonesome as I can be

I go out walkin'
After midnight
Out in the moonlight
Just hopin' you may be
Somewhere a-walkin'
After midnight
Searching for me

Somewhere a-walkin'
After midnight
Searching for me

Somewhere a-walkin'
After midnight
Searching for me

And here's to Charlie Giordano on the Hammond B3!

Her singing is like a very good, old bottle of wine.

Billie meets Patsy - wonderful!

Not Bellie meets Patsy but Madeleine Peyroux meets us with a whole new feeling about this song ! Wow blew me away She makes it timeless

Awesome cover, such soul.

The old Patsy Cline hit taken past the next 10 levels. Great version.

@valerie80 There's a distinct Peggy Lee inflection also which appears stronger than anything. But Peyroux's definitely got her own sound.

Am a bit shocked that someone would dislike this song. It relaxes me so much.
