Melvins were one of Kurt Cobain's favorite bands (they hailed from his hometown of Aberdeen, WA) and he was friends with the members. He is credited with helping to produce the record. He produced tracks 1, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13 along with Melvins. He played guitar on "Sky Pup" and added percussion to the percussion-only sprawling noise of "Spread Eagle Beagle". Though he is listed as a producer, King Buzzo has been quoted saying that Cobain didn't do very much work, saying that all he did was "turn knobs and sleep".
The back cover is an illustration of the band, drummer Dale Crover on the left, bassist Lori "Lorax" Black (daughter of Shirley Temple) in the middle and guitarist/vocalist Buzz "King Buzzo" Osborne. Note that in the illustration, each member has 6 fingers.

Melvins Lyrics
Lost icka toe rest
Might like a sender doe ree
Your make a doll a ray day sender bright like a penalty
Exit ease my ray day member half lost a beat away
Purst in like a one-way sender
War give a heart like a fay
'Cause I can ford a red reed
Only street wide, a reed land
Diamond make a mid-evil bike
A sake like a reed caste
'Cause I can ford a red reed
Only street wide, a reed land
On a reed land
Find a reed land
You sink my swan
Rolly get a worst in
Maybe minus way far central
Poor forty duck a pin
Milk maid dud bean
Master a load a head
Pill pop a dope
A well-run general hash pump gonna led

Nose tickle, dope wrath
Mind like a sink; a dark reel
Your maker, dollar fantasy; Darth pride like a penalty
EXITERS, my rage is near for half of it anyway
Pushed in, like a one-way sin
Dark world, hear my heart like a vein [feign]
Cause I can afford any need, and always steal a part of real now
Time to make-a-believe, if I can't save it like a recast
Cause I can afford any need, and only speak a part of real now
I won't relapse... If I could relent
In seek of my squall: Go there, you’ll get it worse than
Medically, my script I've sent, your poor phony doctor penned
Milk maid don’t fill, master I've loaded half
Père; Papa, don’t ever tip, your hat for my goaded lips
Cause I can afford a relief, I'd like to speak a part of relapse
Time to make a BELIEVER, if they can save it like a recast
Cause I can afford a relief, and only speak a part of relapse
I won't relapse... If I could REPENT!?

@Blah Blah Dude, I love the band. They’re one of my favorite bands of all time. They have a ton of sick riffs. I just don’t think that they all that original.
