The cover photo is the same as N.W.A's "Panic Zone" single and features people who do not appear on the record. The album peaked at #39 on Billboard magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
On the album cover, their group name has a period at the end, while in later albums, it does not.
N.W.A. and the Posse was re-released in 1989 by Ruthless Records, substituting another N.W.A song for the one by Rappinstine. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1994.
