That interpretation is rubbish! It's a diss song in regards to her ex husband. Yes, Ekwe means drum or loud noise, or even a call to arms( not in the battle sense, think town crier announcement). In this case her ex's name could have Ekwe in it or she's likening his relentless pursuit to win her back to a loud annoying noise that follows her everywhere she goes. Stop interpreting unless you know what the words actually mean. It's unethical!
