He has recently finished a BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design (Fashion and Clothing) at City and Islington College. He first auditioned to The X Factor with "Fly Me To The Moon" by Frank Sinatra but Walsh was the only judge to enthuse over his performance, Cowell compared him to a wedding singer and joined Cole in giving him a no. Walsh went backstage to ask him to come back at the end of the day with another song. When Richardson returned he performed James Brown's "It's A Man's Man's Man's World", to which he received a yes from all three judges, with Cowell complementing his taste in music. At the judges houses stage he performed "True Colors" but failed to make it into the inital top 12. He was then chosen by Minogue as her "wild card". He came 7th on the show overall.
His debut album was announced on 6th March 2012, with it being financed via pledge music here: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/paijerichardson?utm_campaign=project3414&utm_medium=activity&utm_source=twitter
