1. Pierrot Lunaire was an Avant-prog/Progressive folk band from Italy. Two albums were released: A self-titled in 1974 and Gudrun in 1976.
They are quite different in style, the first being more based upon normal song structure though still being quite experimental, and the second being more free-form and experimental than the first. Particularly Gudrun is regarded as a classic by many fans of progressive rock.

2. Pierrot Lunaire is an experimental psychedelic project out of California on the Hooker Vision label. Pierrot Lunaire combines distorted samples of ballads and waltzes, disembodied vocals, and various other auditory phenomena, crafting a brand of drone which is haunting, ethereal, and radically unique.
