It was a double album, with thirteen songs on each side, and a concept album structured around the fictional character of Pink, documenting his loss of father, overprotective mother, educational abuse and eventual isolation. The titular wall is metaphorical of a wall between Pink and society, conceived by Roger Waters on the Animals tour following an incident with a fan in Montreal. The Wall was followed with an expensive theatrical tour and film. It has sold over thirteen million copies, placing it behind the Dark Side of the Moon as Pink Floyd's second-bestselling album. The single 'Another Brick in the Wall - part 2' became their only no. 1 single in both the UK and US. It has received widespread critical acclaim, and the songs 'Hey You' and 'Comfortably Numb' have also enjoyed significant prominence.

on Sheep
the lyrics were on the inner sleeve of the album. the first word of the song is "Harmlessly" not "Hopelessly" as stated above. its an important word because at the end of the song, after the sheep rise up and take over, the lyrics say "You better stay home and do as you're told. Get out of the road if you want to grow old" because the sheep are not harmless any more. now that they are in control they are no better than the dogs and pigs they displaced. Its a big part of the meaning behind the whole Album. And what an amazingly written album it is.
