Recorded 1993 @ Remaximum Recording Studios and at Funny Bunny Studios London
by Mic Jogwer (vocals and guitars), Ruebi Walter (bass and keys), Louis Pavlou (drums)
produced by David M. Allen, mixed by Marc Williams
Liner notes:
Perfect Sex was the only album were we actually had a real producer. In a way. David M. Allen, famous for his hit productions with The Cure and The Sisters Of Mercy by accident received a demo tape (we were handing them out in front of music clubs after the shows of other bands we liked) and loved it. It reminded him of his own punk days, it all felt fresh and raw to him. So he invited us into his studio "Funny Bunny" and within a fortnight we recorded an album with a straightforward three-piece setup. Just the band, vocals, guitar, bass, drums, as raw as it can get and down to tape. It felt great then, because it had nearly no artificial elements at all. It was the time of bands like Sonic Youth, Hole, Nirvana at their peak. But again, listening back to it now, it lacks the magic of early/god PINK TURNS BLUE recordings: atmosphere, depth, intensity.
So yes, the songs had some clever lyrics and tunes, but no authority/authenticity in any way. Not enough.
