Poor Colour Palette is a 27 year old gentleman, from a moderately sized town near Glasgow. Starting his music career as one half of 8-bit duo, Tacky Snow, but they separated with both members wanting to progress in different directions. After experimenting with his sound and different names (including Frosted Brogues another 8-bit project) he started Chinese Crack Crimes, making electronic ambient music and releasing an album. Finally he started Poor Colour Palette when trying to write his new CCC album and found he was stripping out the electronics in favour of more simple piano tracks.

In 2011 he also teamed up with Thomas Simodo (Simodo Dragons) to create a new band, Braidwood Pond and between them they started the Swan Hut Troop, an artist collective.
