The Show Must Go On
Queen + Elton John Lyrics

Empty spaces what are we living for
Abandoned places I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore

The show must go on
The show must go on
Yeah
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on

Whatever happens, I'll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for?
I guess I'm learning (I'm learning), I must be warmer now
I'll soon be turning (turning, turning, turning), round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free

The show must go on
The show must go on (yeah yeah)
Ooh, inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on

Yeah

My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairy tales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly my friends

The show must go on, yeah
The show must go on
I'll face it with a grin
I'm never giving in
On with the show

Ooh, I'll top the bill, I'll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
(On with the show, on with the show)

Show (show must go on, go on)

Elton lost sooo many friends to aids in the 80s and 90s.. He covered this with Queen as a sign of his love and respect for Freddie.. I love this version...

So he maybe should tour with Queen instead of Adam Lambert. If Elton isn't retiring. But as a matter of fact, He retired.

Comrade Bear

He also lost John because somebody assassinated him

@Davide Corbia Diana's death killed me- and I can't help but wonder to this day if it was meant to be..She was an angel, who had her wings clipped by the Royals..But she was so graceful..Freddie took her out one night, and dressed her up so no one would recognize her- so she could have some fun. Its a great story- Find it- it also says alot about who Freddie really was.

To this day he still has his after Oscar party here in the States, to raise money for Aids. Losing Freddie was a horrible catalyst for Elton- who felt so helpless and guilty- "(Why didn't I do more? Why didn't I work harder for this charity?")-Although it wasn't his fault at all...Queen has often lamented that Freddie missed a "cure" ( for what its worth) by mere months..Together we have stopped Aids and vaccines are now available to live with Aids. But this is 2020 years later.
