Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Bro’s Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

Heavy as Lead
Rebelution Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
There's no green No drink
I need a sip of positive things
Not no trips, Real dreams
I need a dose of nothing you roll up
I'm on the clock this time
And when I'm all done
And had a war won
You know I get real high
So, how do I get through?
You're no sweat off my back, yeah
How do we get through this?
Life's real
But that's what we live for
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down, oh
Hold steady my head
When the world is crumbling all around, oh
No pressure, no stress
I'm better, I'm best
When the dark surrounds, oh
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down, oh
Hold up, hold up
Can we take a minute?
Can we post up, post up?
Gather our strength
Then we roll up, roll up
All the inner troubles
Let it burn up, burn up
Watch it rise through the air
And let it brighten up the sky tonight
We got a real light
And we prepared
And to my people, yeah, it's dark tonight
We got a real light
And we're not scared
How do I get through?
You're no sweat off my back, yeah
How do we get through this?
Life's real
But that's what we live for
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down, oh
Hold steady my head
When the world is crumbling all around, oh
No pressure, no stress
I'm better, I'm best
When the dark surrounds, oh
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down, oh
Life's real
But this is what we live for
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down, oh
Hold steady my head
When the world is crumbling all around, oh
No pressure, no stress
I'm better, I'm best
When the dark surrounds, oh
Come heavy as lead
Won't let nobody ever take me down
The lyrics of Rebelution's song "Heavy as Lead" convey a message of resilience, strength, and determination in the face of adversity. The singer is in need of a "fix" but not in the traditional sense of seeking drugs or alcohol, but rather a boost of positivity and real dreams. They reject escapism through substances and instead seek inner peace and motivation to face life's challenges head-on. This inner strength is symbolized by the metaphor of being "heavy as lead," indicating a strong and unwavering resolve.
The chorus emphasizes the singer's refusal to be brought down by external pressures or negativity. They vow to hold steady and remain strong even when the world around them seems to be crumbling. The imagery of being "heavy as lead" suggests a grounded and unshakeable presence that cannot be easily toppled. The repetition of the refrain reinforces the theme of perseverance and resilience in the face of obstacles.
The second verse calls for a moment of pause and reflection, a gathering of strength before facing internal struggles. The metaphor of inner troubles burning up and brightening the sky symbolizes a transformative process of overcoming difficulties and finding inner light. The singer acknowledges the darkness but asserts their ability to navigate it with courage and determination, finding solace in their own inner light and strength.
Overall, "Heavy as Lead" is a powerful anthem of empowerment and self-belief, urging listeners to stand tall and resolute in the face of challenges. The lyrics celebrate the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity to rise above adversity with inner strength and determination. The song serves as a reminder that, despite life's hardships, we have the power to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger and wiser.
