Only the Lonely
Roy Orbison Lyrics

(Dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah, ooh yay, yay, yay, yeah)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, ooh, ah, only the lonely)
(Only the lonely)

Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)
Know the way I feel tonight (ooh yay, yay, yay, yeah)
Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)
Know this feeling ain't right (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)

There goes my baby
There goes my heart
They're gone forever
So far apart

But only the lonely
Know why I cry
Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah, ooh yay, yay, yay, yeah)
(Oh, oh, oh, oh, ooh, wah, only the lonely)
(Only the lonely)

Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)
Know the heartaches I've been through (ooh yay, yay, yay, yeah)
Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)
Know I cry and cry for you (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)

Maybe tomorrow
A new romance
No more sorrow
But that's the chance
You've got to take
If your lonely heart break
Only the lonely (dum, dum, dum, dumdy do, wah)

Only the lonely know the way I feel tonight.
Only the lonely know this feeling ain't right.

There goes my baby.
There goes my heart.
They're gone forever, So far apart.

But only the lonely know why I cry

Only the lonely know the heartaches I've been through.
Only the lonely know I cry, cry for you.

Maybe tomorrow, A new romance.
No more sorrow, But that's the chance
You've got to take,
If your lonely heart breaks.

Only the lonely (dum-dumb-dummy doo-wah)

The voice of an angel

Mike Kelley

Wow, I love the way you put it. Might I add, "Roy had the voice of angels, heard from High, here on Earth" and yet, he was such an unassuming man.

Patricia Slocum

Yes, it is. Soothing a soul's ache.

M. Pretty girl.

Great unique voice! My mom loved his songs, I'd listen as a little girl and teen when she put on his records, may she rest in peace. Kind Regards and God Bless! 🙏

Hello M. Pretty, I hope my comment wasn't taken as a form of invasion of your comments privacy. I'm here to make friends, how are you? Where are you from?

In 1963, I saw Roy perform at Vestavia Country Club at a Frat Party after the Auburn/Alabama football game. I couldn’t believe it was him on a party room stage. I was up front. He was unbelievable. No studio enhancements. Just pure Roy. I’ll never forget his expressionless face and the sound that came out of his voice. He stood there, expressionless and hit notes that only most people could dream of. He was unbelievable on a tiny Country Club stage with a third-rate audio system. But, he was great and something I will take to my grave.

@Theodore Radford And it’s okay that your breath smells like 3 day old sperm.
