Listen close, and don't be stoned
I'll be here in the morning
Cause I'm just floating
Your cigarette still burns
Your messed-up world will thrill me
Alison, I'm lost
Alison, I said we're sinking
There's nothing here but that's okay
Outside your room, your only sister's spinning
But she lies, tells me she's just fine
I guess she's out there somewhere
And the sailors they strike poses
TV covered walls, and so slowly
With your talking and your pills
Your messed-up life still thrills me
Alison, I'm lost
Alison, I'll drink your wine
I wear your clothes, when we're both high
Alison, I said we're sinking
But you laugh and tells me it's just fine
I guess she's out there somewhere

I cannot understand why critics hated everything they did during their time. These songs are incredible. Those idiots are responsible for this band flaming out before they should have.

Its because Slowdive were literally ahead of their time, people didn't get it.. a couple of years later and their music would've been totally accepted... but we live in a weird world though... honestly I personally wouldn't like to see Slowdive on the mainstream.. I feel like its definitely not their spot

I can't think of anything more worthless than a music critic

@Matt Cunningham Shoegae'sl ife span was probably 2 years. Nirvana then Britpop was the new thing for the NME, Sounds, Melody Maker. Half the Shoegaze bands ended up moving the sound on, (Ride, chapterhouse ect). It was defintly pushed out the backdoor before anyone even realised.

Actually it was Nirvana and Grunge then crappy Britpop that killed off Shoegaze.

Ever hear what the Manic Street Preachers said about them?

A few months ago I met someone who show me this song... He said "I love your name, and there's a song with your name". Today I'm listening because that person is gone... Rest in peace my friend!

@CheckItOut x That sounds like the same nonsense excuse my sister would give me when we were kids and she would talk out of her ass about stuff she didn't actually know about.
