Sophie Berkal-Sarbit is an innovative jazz musician who has made her name using her grand, colourful delivery. She was born in Winnipeg in 1991 and attended Kelvin High School, graduating in 2008. Berkal-Sarbit has been singing and performing since age 11 and remains the youngest person to perform at the National Jazz Awards to date. In 2003, Berkal-Sarbit was awarded Top Vocalist Honours at the New York International Music Festival with performances in Las Vegas and New York's Madison Square Garden. In 2010, she performed as a headliner's opening act at the Beaches Jazz Festival in Toronto. Currently, Berkal-Sarbit resides in Toronto,Ontario and continues to enchant with her music.
