Jimmy Olsen's Blues
Spin Doctors Lyrics

Well, I don't think I can handle this
A cloudy day in Metropolis
I think I'll talk to my analyst
I got it so bad for this little journalist
It drives me up the wall and through the roof
Lois and Clark in a telephone booth
I think I'm going out of my brain
I got it so bad for little Miss Lois Lane

[CHORUS]
Lois Lane please put me in your plan
Yeah, Lois Lane you don't need no Superman
Come on downtown and stay with me tonight
I got a pocket full of kryptonite
He's leaping buildings in a single bound
I'm reading Shakespeare in my place downtown
Come on downtown and make love to me
I'm Jimmy Olsen not a titan, you see
He's faster than a bullet, stronger than a train
He's the one who got lucky, got his cape
Around Miss Lois Lane
I can't believe my dilemma is real
I'm competing with the man of steel

[CHORUS]

The guitar is so good, so slidey and such fascinating parts, same chords in lots of different and interesting ways and he has so many fills that are so beautiful. Really god level guitar song. The singing is a similar too. He makes it sound easy but he has a great range and can go up and down like it is nothing. He also has a sort of scat style that is so unique, especially for a rock band.

If you know how to play guitar, especially old school, then you know how good it is... :)

Daniel Furbush

Great guitar work

Nigel Hawes

Totally agree. Loved learning all the riffs and chord shapes on this song, and feel privileged to have seen them perform live in Glasgow many years ago. An underrated band that were greater than the sum of their parts.

Charles Baserap

Super underrated. As a guitarist myself I appreciate just how tight he plays and knows it's not always about flash, it's about conveying the emotion, too.

@Dtm Jax I noticed that too :)

A hidden gem in musicology. Every note beat and pulse kicks ass. They were a top shelf band.

Love this song. 60 years old and this still a fresh.

This one is better than 2 Princes imo
