Released 1969, featuring the uncomperable James Jamerson on bass along with the rest of the amazing Motown house band backing Stevie up when he was only 19! An album packed full of amazing grooves, including the hits "Yester-Me Yester-You Yesterday", and the title track of course. The rest of the album includes some rare Motown originals, not to mention some mighty fine Motown renditions of covers. The Funk Brothers were on fire behind him on this session!

My Cherie Amour
Stevie Wonder Lyrics
La la la la la la, la la la la la la
My cherie amour, lovely as a summer day
My cherie amour, distant as the milky way
My cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
In a cafe or sometimes on a crowded street
I've been near you, but you never noticed me
My cherie amour, won't you tell me how could you ignore
That behind that little smile I wore
How I wish that you were mine
La la la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la, la la la la la la
Maybe someday, you'll see my face amoung the crowd
Maybe someday, I'll share your little distant cloud
Oh, cherie amour, pretty little one that I adore
You're the only girl my heart beats for
How I wish that you were mine
La la la la la la, la la la la la la
La la la la la la, la la la la la la

Does anyone cry when you hear this song?
Joe Lazarus
YES!! It's a beautiful song and in an alternative universe it prob would've been my favorite song on a happy day.
But unfortunately in this one, it's is not.
This song was playing when my ex broke up with me and it also played on the day my father died, so yes, I not only cry, I wail.

No.

When you think about how little accompanyment there is in this song - it's all the more amazing.

Does anyone not? Or at least come close.
