And the Hero Will Drown
Story of the Year Lyrics
The night will come
And rip away,
Her wings of innocence through every word we say
Maybe it's time,
To spit out the core of our rotting union
Hopefully before it chokes
Us to our senses.
Guess it's too bad,
That everything we have
Is taken away.
Swim in the smoke
The hero will drown
Intoxicating beauty tears everything down
But still our hands are
Bound at the wrist
This romantic tragedy is suffocating from your fist,
In a sea of fire.
Guess its to bad,
That everything we have
Is taken away.
Hero, hero, this word you'll never know
Guess it's to bad
That everything we have
Is taken away.
Away, away, away. They're taking it away

5. Story Of The Year - And The Hero Will Drown

7. Lostprophets - To Hell We Ride
9. Jerk - Sucked In
10. Hotwire - Invisible
- For garage:
1. Mystikal - Smashing the Gas
2. Dilated Peoples - Who's Who

The protagonist pulls up to a light, staring at the partially empty, neon illuminated road ahead of him, it's been almost 20 years since he was in Olympic City last time. Everything around him now seems so different, except for that signature sewage smell lingering amongst the streets...
It is now midnight, the same old dry hot summer night he experienced many times before during his stay, even the wind that blows by at random doesn't take the heat away...
'Where's Eddie, and the rest of the crew?' He finds himself wondering. Are they still in the city after so many years? What are they doing nowadays? As he drowns himself in his thoughts, two sets of headlights are approaching quick from behind...
Two street racers, rocketing down the street, now blow the red in front after swerving around him while making loud rumbles. He examines their cars as they fade into the distance, those two are in newer models. 'Still can't get used to how they look.' He thinks to himself... Light turns green, and he continues to cruise around the city.
Memories come flooding back as he drives. Once upon a time, he was the same hothead like those two who went flying by. Palmont, Olympic City, Bayview, Rockport... So many places he set foot in, so many more trouble he got himself into. All the times he was betrayed, the times he was getting set up, and the times he managed to get away. Now they are nothing but burning memories within his head...
The ride he is in has no business to do with speed, those acceleration numbers cannot even come close to the eco-friendly vehicles' that roam around these days. As defeating as it seems, he didn't bring one single fast car that used to make him talk so tough for his visit. He laughs, but not out of comedy. Considering himself lucky, he is still breathing after all these years...
Such is life, even the inferno fire gets to witness the day it extinguishes. Maybe it is too harsh, that everything he once had got taken away. He beat dozen opponents and won countless races, but the only one he failed to come across at the end of the day was time itself...

The chord progression at 0:46 is so refreshing. Always gave my ride extra 20 kmph speed
