Citing a love of Post Rock and garnering comparisons to Explosions In The Sky, Suplex The Kid are already challenging their sonic heroes, with their increasing reputation leaving comparison redundant.
Prolific as well as perfectionist, Suplex The Kid have self-released an eponymous debut album, recorded with legendary Mogwai producer Andy Miller, recorded a follow up EP "The Trinity Test" produced by Glasgow's own John Disco (Bis, Dirty Hospital, The Amphetameanies ) as well as recording a video for track "Rebuild the machines" and are already putting the finishing touches to their second album. The Kid's début album gained internet notoriety for its epidemic spread, being played on radio in America, Portugal, Italy, Hungary and Australia to name but a few, and from receiving over 5000 downloads from rapid share, blog sites alone. Word of mouth has made this one of the true underground Scottish success stories of the last year.
"locked on post-rock, leaving you breathless." Rick Fulton, Daily Record
“The phrase from a whisper to a roar goes some of the way to describing Suplex The Kids shifts from chiming crystalline guitar motifs to face melting howls of primal feedback”. Fake DIY.com
"This is a nightmarish, thought-provoking record that I’d recommend others listen to." Mathew Slater - Ark Magazine
As multi faceted musicians Suplex are able to mine a wealth of different styles, leaving audiences transfixed by their ability to wring different emotions from their arsenal of effects. Utilising pianos, violin bows, reverb, delay and distortion for their climactic soundscapes Suplex The Kid are staking ownership of Epic sounds and imaginative recordings
